I am Dory Noorafkan, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master's in Counselling Psychology. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, somatic approach that prioritizes the deep connection between the mind and body as the foundation for healing. Somatic therapy is at the core of my practice. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts, we gently explore how emotions, stress, and past experiences are held within the body. Through body awareness, breathwork, and guided movement, clients learn to regulate their nervous system, release stored tension, and develop a deeper sense of safety and connection within themselves. I integrate this body-based approach with evidence-based modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. With over 1,000 hours of training in yoga and functional movement, I offer a uniquely embodied therapeutic experience that supports lasting, meaningful change. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, identity challenges, and life transitions. My intention is to create a safe, compassionate, and attuned space where clients can explore their inner world, build resilience, and reconnect with their innate capacity for healing.
