Explore care at a rate that fits your circumstances.
Some MENDSKY therapists offer reduced session fees based on financial circumstances and availability. Each participating therapist sets their own policy and reviews requests individually. A reduced fee is not guaranteed.
For clients
- 1
Find a participating therapist
Look for “Sliding-scale fees available” on their profile.
- 2
Submit a request
Select “Request a Reduced Fee” on the therapist’s profile and tell them what you can afford per session. You may include a brief explanation of your circumstances. No financial documents are required.
- 3
Agree on the fee
The therapist will review your request and may offer a reduced rate, suggest another amount, or explain that no reduced-fee places are currently available. If a preliminary consultation is offered, its price will be shown before you book.
- 4
Accept the terms
Before your first paid session at the reduced rate, you’ll see and accept the agreement: the agreed fee, the number of reduced-fee sessions it covers, the session duration, the cancellation policy, and any review date. The rate is not active until you accept it.
- 5
Book at your agreed rate
Once accepted, your rate applies to the number of covered sessions agreed with that therapist. After those sessions are used, that therapist’s standard session fee applies again. A reduced rate never carries over to another therapist.
For therapists
Participation is optional. In your dashboard, you can:
- Set your reduced-fee range, eligibility policy, available places, and review interval.
- Review requests and propose a fee privately.
- Document the arrangement and obtain the client’s acceptance before providing paid services: the agreed fee, the number of reduced-fee sessions covered, and that your standard fee applies afterwards.
- Review existing arrangements with advance notice and agreement before changing fees.
Follow the professional standards and provincial requirements applicable to your practice. MENDSKY supports the request and booking process; the therapist remains responsible for the fee arrangement and continuity of care.
Manage Sliding-Scale SettingsQuestions about reduced fees
Is a reduced fee guaranteed?+
No. Each participating therapist reviews requests individually and sets their own policy and number of available places. A reduced fee depends on your circumstances and on whether a place is currently available.
What if my therapist offers a preliminary consultation?+
Its price and duration are shown before you book it. A consultation is a normal paid session at the standard fee unless your therapist has agreed otherwise in writing first.
Who can see my request?+
Your request is shared with the therapist reviewing it. Authorized MENDSKY staff may access the information needed to administer the arrangement, subject to the MENDSKY privacy policy. Your financial circumstances are never shown on public profiles, calendars, payment records or analytics.
Will my fee change automatically?+
No. A review date only schedules a conversation. Any change is proposed with an explanation and a future effective date, and applies only after you accept it. Sessions you have already booked keep the fee they were booked at.
Does my agreed fee apply to other therapists?+
No. An agreement applies only to the sessions covered by it, with that therapist and that service. It does not carry over to another therapist or another service.
What happens after my covered reduced-fee sessions are used?+
You return to that therapist’s standard session fee, shown on their profile and stated in your agreement. If you need to continue at a reduced fee, you can ask your therapist for an extension; a further reduced-fee arrangement is never automatic.
