Not sure what kind of help you need?
You don't have to know what's wrong before asking for help. A 50-minute session with a designated MENDSKY therapist helps you make sense of what you're experiencing, complete your intake form, and find the kind of support that may be appropriate — not a diagnosis, and not therapy.
What to expect
This session is a guided first conversation — not a formal diagnosis, not therapy, and not a guarantee of a therapist match. You explore what you're experiencing, organize your concerns, and complete your intake form with your therapist during the appointment. Afterwards you're free to choose the MENDSKY therapist who feels right for your next step, and you're under no obligation to continue with the therapist you met.
Tell us what's going on
Talk openly about what you've been experiencing, even if you don't know how to describe it.
Make sense of your concerns
The therapist helps you organize your concerns and explore what may be contributing to them.
Complete your intake together
Your consultation therapist helps you complete your intake form during the appointment, so you never have to fill it in alone.
Find your next therapist
Use what you learned, and the recommendations you're given, to choose a therapist whose experience and approach fit your needs.
- A designated MENDSKY therapist guides the session: together you explore what you've been experiencing and complete your intake form.
- Recommendations take into account the specialties that fit your concerns, your own preferences and languages, the therapist's availability, and whether they are eligible to provide care in your location.
- You decide whether to book with a recommended therapist. Nothing is booked, held or assigned for you.
- If you hold MENDSKY's free first therapy session, you may use it afterwards with a therapist who offers it — the consultation itself never uses it up.
- A Matching Consultation does not guarantee a diagnosis, a perfect match, or a free appointment with every therapist we suggest.
You do not need to complete the intake form beforehand. Your consultation therapist can help you complete it during the appointment.
MENDSKY does not provide emergency care. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (911 in Canada) or go to the nearest emergency department. Messages sent through MENDSKY are not monitored continuously and should not be used for urgent help.

MENDSKY's free first therapy session is a separate offer from this consultation: free first sessions are provided by participating therapists, subject to availability. A Matching Consultation does not use up your free first session, and a recommendation is never a free session in itself.
