Yasaman Savari, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Lecturer, and psychoanalytic community organizer. Her work integrates clinical practice, teaching, research, translation, and international psychoanalytic collaboration. Her clinical and theoretical interests are grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, with particular emphasis on Freudian theory, object relations theory, and the work of Melanie Klein, D.W. Winnicott, and Wilfred Bion. She is especially interested in the application of psychoanalytic thinking to trauma, mourning, migration, identity, shame, and the psychological consequences of war and social upheaval. She has a particular interest in the integration of psychoanalytic theory with contemporary empirical research. Alongside her academic and clinical work, Dr. Savari has been actively involved in psychoanalytic education and international collaboration. As Director of International Relations for an Iranian psychoanalytic group, she has helped organize educational programs, workshops, and dialogues with psychoanalysts and psychotherapists from different countries. Yasaman has collaborated with several universities in Iran as a university lecturer. Dr. Savari is also engaged in psychoanalytic writing and translation. She has translated and disseminated psychoanalytic literature in Persian and has written papers in English on topics including war, migration, loss, trauma, and contemporary psychoanalytic thought. Her work reflects a commitment to making psychoanalytic ideas accessible across linguistic and cultural boundaries. In her clinical practice, she works with adults experiencing difficulties related to personality organization, attachment, emotional regulation, identity, loss, and relational conflicts. She provides psychotherapy in English, Farsi, and Arabic and is committed to increasing access to psychodynamic and psychoanalytic treatment for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
